Author Guidelines

Research Journal of Science (RJS)


1. Journal Scope

The Research Journal of Science (RJS) is an international peer-reviewed scientific journal dedicated to publishing high-quality original research in the field of Agricultural Sciences.

The journal publishes innovative research in the following areas:

  • Crop Science

  • Horticulture

  • Animal Production

  • Plant Protection

  • Soil Science

  • Irrigation and Drainage

  • Environmental Sciences

  • Agricultural Economics

  • Biotechnology

  • Genetics

The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:

  • Original Research Articles (8–12 pages)

  • Short Research Articles (2–4 pages)

  • Short Communications (1 page)

  • Review Articles

The journal is published biannually, with two issues per year released in June and December.


2. Language of Publication

The Research Journal of Science (RJS) accepts manuscripts written in English or Arabic.

  • Manuscripts submitted in English should be written in clear and grammatically correct English.

  • Manuscripts submitted in Arabic must include an extended abstract in English to ensure wider international accessibility.

For all manuscripts, the title, abstract, and keywords must be provided in both Arabic and English.

Authors are responsible for ensuring the linguistic quality of their manuscripts before submission.

The editorial board reserves the right to request language editing or revision if necessary.


3. Manuscript Submission

Manuscripts must be submitted electronically via email:

Upon submission, the corresponding author will receive a confirmation email within 72 hours.
If confirmation is not received, authors are advised to contact the journal via the same email address.

Submitted manuscripts must satisfy the following conditions:

  • The manuscript must not have been previously published.

  • The manuscript must not be under consideration by another journal.

  • The work must be original and free of plagiarism.

  • The corresponding author must confirm that all co-authors approve the submission.

The journal reserves the right to screen manuscripts using plagiarism detection tools.


4. Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process.

  • Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent experts in the relevant field.

  • Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the manuscript may be:

    • Accepted

    • Accepted with minor revisions

    • Accepted with major revisions

    • Rejected

Reviewer comments will be sent to the corresponding author for necessary revisions.

Final acceptance depends on meeting the scientific standards of the journal.


5. Publication Ethics

The Research Journal of Science (RJS) follows international ethical standards for academic publishing.

The journal adheres to the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Authors must ensure that:

  • The work is original.

  • Proper citations are provided.

  • There is no plagiarism, fabrication, or falsification of data.

Cases of misconduct will result in:

  • Immediate rejection of the manuscript

  • Notification to the authors’ institutions if necessary.


6. Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts must be prepared according to the following format:

  • Font: Times New Roman

  • Font size: 12

  • Spacing: Single

  • Page size: A4 (21 × 29.7 cm)

  • Margins: 2 cm on all sides

  • Page numbering: Consecutive

Arabic numerals must be used throughout the manuscript:

1, 2, 3, 4, 5 …

Abbreviations should be defined when first used.

Example:
Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)

The maximum manuscript length is 15 pages.


7. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be organized in the following order:

  1. Title

  2. Authors and affiliations

  3. Abstract

  4. Keywords

  5. Introduction

  6. Materials and Methods

  7. Results

  8. Discussion

  9. Conclusion (optional)

  10. References

The first page should contain:

  • Article title

  • Author names

  • Institutional affiliations

  • Corresponding author email

  • Abstract

  • Keywords


8. Citation and References

The journal uses the author–date citation system.

In-text citation examples

One author:

(Zaid, 2014)

Two authors:

(Zaid and Amr, 2014)

More than two authors:

(Zaid et al., 2014)

Example in sentence:

Zaid (2014) reported that…

When citing multiple references, they should be arranged:

  • Chronologically

  • Then alphabetically if necessary

Authors should use recent and relevant references whenever possible.


9. Tables and Figures

Tables and figures must be:

  • Numbered consecutively using Arabic numerals

  • Provided with clear titles

  • Understandable without reference to the text

Additional requirements:

  • Symbols and abbreviations must be explained in footnotes.

  • Tables should be simple and clear.

  • Figures must have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.


10. Copyright Policy

Authors retain copyright of their work.

By submitting a manuscript, authors grant the journal the right to publish and distribute the article in print and electronic formats.


11. Open Access Policy

The Research Journal of Science (RJS) follows an open access policy, allowing readers to freely access published articles.

This ensures the wide dissemination of scientific knowledge.
